I will never forget how luminous the light was, or the heavenly smell of lavender that was wafting on the air as I read my book beneath the olive trees.  The phenomenal experience of the mistral wind; exploring the medieval towns of Segeret, Sablet and Gigondas; the incredible cheese shop in Vaison and the panorama of mountains, valleys and vineyards are etched in my memory forever.

My stay was a wonderful balance of site seeing and relaxation. In one day, I ventured on foot through the vineyards to nearby Vaison la Romain with its wonderful examples Medieval and Roman architecture, strolled through the weekly market savouring the wares of local farmers and artisans, and upon returning home nibbled on crepes that Patrice prepared for us at the pool kitchen for lunch.  Later, I relaxed outside on the west terrace, savouring a glass Gigondas while watching the evening sunset.

Jillan and Patrice were warm and gracious hosts who generously shared their beautiful home and the treasures of Provence with this grateful traveller.
